Paseo del Mar, Zamboanga City (November 2013)

Finally! Paseo del Mar, the city's premiere promenade by the sea has been re-opened to the public since last week after it was closed down following the 20-day firefight between soldiers and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) rebels last September.

The Paseo del Mar with its multi-million musically gyrating dancing fountain is just within “shooting distance” from the barangays of Rio Hondo, Mariki, Sta. Barbara, Sta. Catalina, and Kasangyangan, the battlegrounds during the three-week standoff.
The usual promenaders -- joggers or just plain visitors -- shied away from the Paseo del Mar at the height of the conflict.

Curfew still on
Vicente Larato of the city information office said although the park opened to the public, promenaders at the Paseo will still have to go home before midnight due to the curfew still in place from 12 midnight to 4 a.m.

Weekend and daily promenaders go to Paseo del Mar to enjoy the cool sea breeze and dine at various restobars and food stalls in the area.

Joggers and bikers also troop to Paseo del Mar as early as 5 a.m.

The reopening of Paseo del Mar signals the city’s return to normalcy after the standoff even as recovery and rehabilitation efforts of the city government are gaining momentum with the support of the different government and non-government agencies.

With the onset of the Yuletide season, Paseo del Mar will once again come to life as both entertainment complexes are adorned with colorful Christmas lights and decors, to the delight of the promenaders, especially children, Larato said.  (interaksyon.com)

Kasulutan Beach, Bongao Tawi-Tawi

One of my favorite hangout places in Bongao Tawi-Tawi.. Blue skies, fresh air, inviting blue waters and overlooking some small islands of Tawi-Tawi.  I also love snorkeling here.. just a few steps away from that cemented barrels you can see rich, colorful and dazzling coral reefs which i thought only few (or is it just me?) notices them. Perks of being a biology grad eh? Wish i had waterproof camera :p

Android 4.4 Kitkat

Android is the Os that powers over 1 billion smartphoones and tablets. Since april 2009, android versions have been developed under a codename and released according to alphabetical order. Previous codenames of the OS platform were named after a desert--cupcake, donut, eclair, froyo, gingerbread, honeycomb, icecream sandwich (current version i am using) and jelly bean. Thr release had long been expected to be numbered 5.0 and called key lime pie but google decided to name the next version of android after one of our favorite chocolate treat, kitkat! making it as the first version of android thats under a brand name.

On sept 3 2013, Google announced Jelly Beans successor as android 4.4 Kitkat with a release date to be announced. As part of a deal Nestle is running a contest to win a Nexus 7 or Google play credits through sprcially branded kitkat bars.

Googles upcoming android 4.4 kitkat and Nexus 5 smartphone have been tipped  tobe released on october 14, 2013 along with that info a tipser also supplied some of the rumored changes we'll see in the next iteration of the Os.
* firmware availability to older phones
*fragmenration changes
*new notification widgets
*miracast updates
*New IPIs regarding animation and gallery visualization
*change android default blue toother preset palette colors. (technobuffalo)

Smart free internet using manual cdc (connect-disconnect) trick

Just this morning when i tried to connect to the internet using the smart free net v3 app, i got errors like the 633 error where you have to restart your pc or plug and unplug your modem to avoid this error but me wanting not to restart my pc remembered this old trick (manual cdc) but haven't tried it yet cause you have to manually connect and disconnect your modem until it connects to the internet so i thought it would be laborious (laborious talaga? haha tamad lang eh..) though i knew that this trick has tons of positive feedback. And so i started this trick.. geared up my forefinger, took a deep breath (nah, just kidding :p) and manually cdc'ed my modem.. then VOILA! after 3 minutes (more or less 20 tries of clicking the cdc button) i am now conected to the internet! sweet! not disappointed at all with trick.. it's my first try anyways.

 PROS:

No apps needed
No need to run cmd to ping
No errors (like 619, 633 and the likes)
Stable connection
Fast and easy

CONS:
cant think of any.. :p a bit of patience maybe!

Working Opera mini (mod for mgc) on my CM Flare (download capable)

When freezone and magic ip (magic ipis for some :p) bade farewell to us (freenet-dependent folks haha) we looked back to one of the basics- the infamous OM for MGC (infamous because of its slow connection? haha) anyways, im not satisfied with all the opera mini for MGC ive used on my SGY since all of them take ages before a page loads and connect, you'll just feel irritated and find yourself looking for other alternative connections like droidvpn's and all.. until i tested this one- om7.5-mgc+turbo-lau.apk i like this app because it's modified independently for cherry mobile users so i dont have to root my CM flare and delete the stock om so i can install other oms.. it's quite fast as compared to other om's and it is download capable, the connection is fairly good i dunno if it will be stable.. i hope so :) so here it is...

The best Smart Free Internet Trick

Smart free internet trick for pc, been using this trick for months now.. For me this one's the best working and user friendly app/trick i've used so far. What i like the most about this trick is that there's no complex instructions to follow for the trick to work and you've got only one app to run and that's SMART FREE INTERNET V3.0 beta and one more thing- PATIENCE, a lil bit of that and we're good :))

What you need: PC (ofcourse! : p)
smart free net v3.0 app download here
smart sim (regular sims, smartbro sim. im using smart polka dot sim)
smart broadband or any unlocked modems

How it works:    open your dashboard (do not connect it yet, let the app do its job :p)
run the smart free internet v3.0 app
wait until the magic word pops out "BUTAS"
YOUR NOW CONNECTED! ENJOY FREE INTERNET :)))

Screenies of the app and the time before it got connected to the internet.

TIPS:
*works fastest on new sims like the polka dot one and sims that you have not used for internet tricks before (when i first used my new polka dot sim, the "BUTAS" popped out in less than a minute! sweet! :))
*If one of these erros appear:
REMOTE ERROR ACCESS 619-------check if your sim is blocked. how to unblock? send GPRS ON TO 211; MMS ON TO 211; 3G ON TO 211 OR ROAM OFF TO 333
*REMOTE ERROR ACCESS 633----- restart your PC and try the app again.
*be patient. sometimes, it takes like 30  minutes before you can connect to the internet , but oftentimes 15 minutes or less im already connected. (the fastest i got was 18  seconds) Again be patient. ( coz patience leads to success! yeah? :)

THANKS TO THE DEVELOPER OF THIS APP AND TO CHRISG_021 OF SB!

Custom Rom Installation for Samsung Galaxy Y - Hyperion 8

What is custom rom/android rom?

(Android Read Only Memory) A file containing the executable instructions (the system image) of an Android OS and affiliated apps. The stock ROM comes installed on the phone or tablet, while a custom ROM comes from a third party. The custom ROM is either a uniquely modified OS or a stock version made available before the vendor releases it for that model. Sometimes, a custom ROM of the
latest OS is made available by a third party for a device that the vendor no longer updates.

Flashing the ROM
Flashing a ROM means installing the system image into the device's internal flash memory. Flash memory holds the Android's firmware, the same as most other devices with an embedded OS.

Description of Hyperion 8 as given by the developer CarlDeanCatabay:

JellyBean experience at its best
Everything you love about Hyperion and
JellyBean — the gorgeous UI , fast and fluid
performance, battery life — is everything you’ll
love about the new Hyperion, too. And you can
have the best of both it in one ROM.
A rom worthy of all Galaxy Y
Fast performance, superb stability, mouth
watering UI, useful features — It's something for
everyone. And Everything!
Incredible performance
Known for its fast, fluid performance, Hyperion
doesn’t disappoint. It features 23 powerful and
power-efficient CPU governors and 4 I/O
Scheduler, which makes everything you do feel
smooth and natural.
Hyperion wouldn’t be Hyperion without
incredible battery life . Even with so much
performance packed into such a small space, it
still lasts up to 2 days on a single charge* . So
you can read, watch, play, write, and create
whatever you want, as long as you want.
*battery life based on moderate usage with all
radios turned on at default policy settings.

What you need: Rooted phone

Funny Pinoy Memes

These are my collection of funny pinoy memes. :))

Because facebook never stops inventing new features to improve and update its market-leading social network, On wednesday June 19 facebook started to roll out its new cool feature which allow users to post a photo using the new "attach a photo button" in response to the posts they read. It's true when  Bob Baldwin, (one of the developers behind the release) said that "sometimes showing a photo helps me tell a story much better than words alone." I just love this new feature and here are some of  the funny memes i got from facebook commenters..
